Eric is Chief Legal Officer of 10x Genomics, a next-generation DNA sequencing company that catalyzed a revolution in genomics. Its products have enabled researchers to make fundamental discoveries across multiple areas of biology, including oncology, immunology and neuroscience, and have powered the single cell revolution hailed by Science magazine as the “Breakthrough of the Year.” 10x has more than 2,000 issued patents and applications.

Over his 25-year career in Silicon Valley, Eric has headed the legal departments of impactful technology companies including Tesla, Nutanix, SanDisk and Lexar, led four IPOs, prevailed in numerous critical intellectual property litigation matters including winning one of the largest IP judgments in history, and negotiated multiple acquisitions. Eric has received multiple honors, including being recognized as one of the 25 Leading General Counsel in California by the Daily Journal and recently as one of the 50 most influential people in intellectual property. Eric started his career at Latham & Watkins specializing in intellectual property and antitrust litigation. He has served on NASDAQ's Silicon Valley Advisory Committee and the Board of Visitors of Stanford Law School. Eric earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School and A.B. from Princeton University where he was a varsity lightweight rower.
