Alexander Haertel leads the patent law department of Deutsche Telekom. He is responsible for the prosecution of patents as well as for patent related litigation handled by Deutsche Telekom. In his role he also oversees invention remunerations as well as setting up litigation and prosecution strategies, especially in times like these with ever changing and new systems like the UPC and the maybe upcoming SEP regulation within the EU. Before joining Deutsche Telekom Alexander had almost 20 years of experience in a few renowned larger boutique law firms and specialized in patent infringement and validity proceedings with an emphasis in automotive and telecoms in large scale cross border disputes. He is a well known speaker at international conferences and frequently publishes on patent law and IP in general. He is co-author for a commentary on the UPC as well as for national patent and unfair competition law. In LESI he an international delegate for LES Germany and co-chair of the meetings committee and the European committee.
