Amy Altshul is GSK’s General Counsel & SVP of R&D, Global Commercial Strategies, Business Development and Corporate Legal. Amy joined GSK in 2009 in the Business Development transactions and team and during her time with the company she has held various legal roles across the pharmaceuticals and vaccines business, including serving as chief counsel for the Rare Diseases and Cell & Gene Therapy businesses. She holds degrees in biology and chemistry and has completed master’s coursework in medicinal chemistry. Prior to law school, Amy was a researcher at the National Cancer Institute conducting studies in secondary leukemia.  She spent several years in private legal practice in New York and Washington, DC as a corporate transactional lawyer, before moving in-house at Wyeth Pharma, then Pfizer, Inc., before joining GSK. Amy is also a licensed patent attorney. She is a member of the President’s Counsel of Cornell Women for Cornell University, a member of the Board of Directors of Galvani Bioelectronics and a member of CHIEF.
