Rebecca McCrackan is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in intellectual property (IP). Currently serving as the Principal IP Advisor at Rio Tinto, an Anglo-Australian mining company, Rebecca has navigated the intricacies of IP law both in private practice in Australia and in various in-house roles within local and ASX-listed multinational corporations. Her expertise has earned her recognition in Intellectual Asset Management's IAM Strategy 300, the premier index for IP strategists, over multiple years.

At Rio Tinto, Rebecca leads a global team spanning three geographies, dedicated to overseeing all aspects of IP-related activities encompassing patents, trademarks, design, copyright, and trade secrets. Additionally, her team supports technology transactions and develops licensing and monetization strategies to maximize IP value. 

Rebecca is duly qualified as a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent and Trademark Attorney, holding a Masters in Industrial Property Law and a PhD in Biomedical research. Her commitment to advancing the field of IP is evidenced by her current role on the LESI CEEM Committee.
